The Library at Edge Hill University is the latest to subscribe to CEU Press’s OA monograph funding programme.

Formally opened as a college in 1885 with just 41 students, the University has grown to a student population of over 23,000 studying subjects ranging from Accountancy and Biosciences, to Engineering, History, Politics and Sport.

The library has chosen to subscribe to the History package containing 50 eBooks on the history of the former communist countries from medieval times to the fall of communism. After three years of membership, Edge Hill will retain perpetual access to all the books in the package.

“We are very pleased to welcome Edge Hill University as a new member of Opening the Future,” said Press Director Emily Poznanski. “We are grateful to all our members who are helping us unlock and disseminate research worldwide”. CEU Press will use the library membership fees to publish new, frontlist titles that will be fully Open Access. Their Opening the Future initiative has already accrued enough library members to fund 5 new OA books.  The first of those is due to be published at the end of November 2021.
